Today at the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly
The Melodians played today at the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly for their annual Celebration of Summer Exhibition.

SteelPan Experience Event for UK Parliament Week Festival
The Melodians Steel Orchestra has been invited to take part in the UK Parliament Week Festival 2017 . The Week runs from 13th to 19th November and the Melodians will be running a SteelPan Experience Event on Saturday 18th November at their base in Henry Cavendish School in Balham.
As part of the event you will be able to learn about the history of Steel Pan and try your hand at it with help and guidance from the Melodians themselves. It will be a fantastic day and a great opportunity to listen to the Melodians and learn how they create their fantastic music.

Heritage Day at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst
The Melodians visited the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst for their Heritage Day celebration on Sunday 19th June. This is an annual event by the Academy to raise money for various charities. The Melodians played down by the lake in the amazing grounds of the Academy. This was the first public performance of their newest addition to the repertoire ‘Mr Sandman’.

Patron’s Lunch tomorrow
HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations are in full flow this weekend. Loads of street parties taking place and especially one on the Mall tomorrow – The Patron’s Lunch! http://www.thepatronslunch.com/event_info
BBC1 will be showing the event live between 1.15 and 4.15 pm. The Melodians are due to play between 1.45 and 2.20 pm at Admiralty Arch so hopefully we will be on BBC1 tomorrow afternoon.
The Melodians Played at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey on Monday 14th March
The Melodians Steel Orchestra played at Westminster Abbey on a chilly day as guests arrived for the Commonwealth Day Service. The players, helpers and parents of the younger children were able to attend the service in the Abbey which was televised live on BBC1. HM the Queen and many of the Royal family were at the service and Terry Noel (leader of the Melodians) was invited to meet the Queen and other members of the Royal family as they left the Abbey.
