Thanks to everyone who has voted for us and encouraged their friends to vote also.  We are currently up to 723 votes which is amazing.

If you haven’t voted yet then follow this link, register and vote for us.  If we get to 1000 votes we are more likely to receive the funding.  This would cover the cost of 2 free public performances in parks in London followed by free workshops where you can try your hand at playing.

30 Years of the Melodians UK

It was our 30th Anniversary Concert last night and we had a fantastic night.  The evening started with a video that reminded us of what we have achieved over the past 30 years and all the countries that we have travelled to and played.

30th Anniversary Concert on Saturday 21st October

A quick reminder that our 30th Anniversary Concert is this Saturday.  The Melodians have been rehearsing hard and are now looking forward to seeing all their supporters and giving a fantastic performance.

A quick reminder from last year’s annual concert with a performance of the Michael Jackson tune Billie Jean:

30th Anniversary Concert is in 2 weeks time

We are rehearsing hard at the moment for our 30th Anniversary Concert on 21st October. We will be celebrating with our friends, families and supporters at our base in Henry Cavendish School in Balham. Our annual concert is usually in December and just to remind you of last year’s concert here is one of the favourites from that evening.

April Spring Friendship Festival in Pyongyang, North Korea 2004

Among our A to Z of countries visited, the most unusual country is probably North Korea.  In 2004, a small group of 6 were invited to perform at the April Spring Friendship Festival in Pyongyang.  This is a video of the Melodians performance at the concert and includes ‘Song of Dear Home’ composed by The Great Leader learnt especially for the event, followed by Danny Boy and Tropical Monsoon composed for the Melodians by the late Mikey Andrews.
